Wellesley College is hiring an Instructional Designer. This three year position--funded by a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support blended learning--will improve our student experiences, and help us better understand how online technologies enrich learning. Working closely with faculty, the Blended Learning Initiative at Wellesley College, and institutional support teams, this position will design, deliver and assess courses and course materials for an online environment, and will provide assistance to faculty in understanding effective course and curriculum design for technology-enabled learning.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Reporting to the Associate Director of the Blended Learning Initiative, the Instructional Designer designs, develops and supports high-quality, customized instructionally effective solutions for online, blended and traditional classroom courses. This position also provides faculty and student support alongside research and instruction colleagues for standard and innovative instructional technologies; collaborates closely with Library & Technology Services (LTS) colleagues and the Blended Learning Initiative to conduct needs assessment and usability analyses; leads and participates in instructional/multimedia design projects; and develops the efficient and reliable use of licensed and custom developed instructional solutions.
