Joe,

This list is a great start. I think that a brief intro narrative would set the stage nicely. Something that covers the following very briefly would do:

  1. WAG involvement with the community
  2. WAG involvement in the QA process
  3. Specific challenges that the WAG met. Off the top of my head:
    1. brand new portal with a lot of new interactions
    2. CKEditor (big win!)
    3. other long standing issues addressed

and then the list.

Let me know what you think. I would offer to help with this but no one seems better suited than you and your team.

Re: [WG: Accessibility] FW: !Draft! Accessibility Improvements for Sakai 2.9.0 Release Notes

Hi all,

I wanted to clarify two things for the group in regards to what Neil Caidin wants from our group.  First, he asked for a summation of the accessibility issues that have been fixed for Sakai 2.9.0. He will include this list in the Sakai 2.9.0 release notes.  I have included my draft below.  I think what Gonzalo is suggesting is needed, but I don’t feel it fits into the format of previous release notes.  Instead, I would like to include the intro narrative Gonzalo suggests on the groups Accessibility Status webpage (<a href="https://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/2ACC/Sakai&#43;CLE&#43;Current&#43;Accessibility">https://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/2ACC/Sakai+CLE+Current+Accessibility). I think including a link to this statement in the release notes is the way to go.

The second item Neil requested from our group was and few short talking points/sentences he can use in his Sakai CLE 2.9.0 presentations at Educause.  I am drafting some statements and will send those around to the group very soon. Thankx for all your hard work.

Re: [WG: Accessibility] FW: !Draft! Accessibility Improvements for Sakai 2.9.0 Release Notes

Hi Joe,

I do think that Gonzalo's narrative fits with the list of fixes and
improvements. It's a quick summary of what would be seen if you looked
at the list and checked all the Jiras.

Re: [WG: Accessibility] FW: !Draft! Accessibility Improvements for Sakai 2.9.0 Release Notes

In reply to this post by Humbert, Joseph A

Revised draft with intro narrative:

The Sakai Accessibility Working Group (AWG) is comprised of accessibility experts, student users and Sakai developers from numerous higher education institutions.  During our 2.9.0 accessibility review the group evaluated 21 tools for accessibility, filed 125+ new accessibility Jiras, and helped to resolve 56+ new and outstanding accessibility Jira issues. The AWG collaborates with many of the different working groups in the Sakai community to identify and remediate accessibility issues across the Sakai environment.  We are closely connected with the Quality Assurance (QA) working group and participate in the Sakai release QA testing process.  The biggest accessibility challenges the AWG has resolved for the Sakai 2.9.0 release are:

Hi Joe,

I do think that Gonzalo's narrative fits with the list of fixes and improvements. It's a quick summary of what would be seen if you looked at the list and checked all the Jiras.
